Super Sand Eagles star, Abu Azeez says the target is not just to qualify from the Group D, semi final ticket but to become the 1st African nation to win the Beach Soccer World Cup.
Speaking via telephone from Paraguay, venue for the 10th FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup, Azeez said on Saturday on Nigeria Sport Express, a radio show on Jordan FM 105.5.
“We want to surpass our last outing, where we couldn’t get out of the group stage.
“Our target is to get out of the group and ultimately get to semi final and if possible we will be happy to win World cup in Paraguay.
Speaking further, “We have enjoyed good preparation so we’ll give our best shot at the championship.”
Nigeria will kickoff its campaign as they face Portugal, Oman and holders Brazil in Group D.
