2013 African cup of Nations winning defender Godfrey Oboabona has indicated intrest in making a return to the Super Eagles, OwoSports Reports.
The former Sunshine Stars of Akure defender has never featured under Gernot Rohr’s Super Eagles team, is optimistic about a future recall.
“Of course, I still hope to play for Nigeria again. I’m waiting all day and by God’s grace, I hope I will be recalled one day,” Oboabona quoted on AOIFootball.
Oboabona who was instrumental as the Super Eagles conquered Africa in 2013 enrout winning the country’s third AFCON title have made 39 appearances for Nigeria.
He also represented Nigeria at the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup and the World Cup in 2014.
The Defender currently ply his trade with FC Dinamo Batumi in Georgia.
