Leeds United moved to the brink of a return to the Premier League after 16 years struggle at the championship.

Marcelo Bielsa’s men had thrashed Stoke City 5-0 on Thursday to plunge the Potters ever closer to the Championship relegation zone.

With just four games remaining to the end of the season, the result saw Leeds moved back one-point ahead of West Brom and opened up a six-point cushion over third-placed Brentford.

Leeds United are in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. The club sold Rio Ferdinand to Manchester United for approximately £30 million in the season that preceded their relegation year.

They relegated in 2003/2004 season. Their failure to maintain a relative edge in the league stemmed out from “financial impolsion” which they have been battling the season before relegation.
