The recent crisis surrounding the Anambra State Football Association elections which saw the return of Senator Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah as the Chairman, of which the Nigeria Football Federation led by Amaju Melvin Pinnick have been against, insisting there was breach of law conducting the election, OwoSports reports.

Former chairman of Nigeria Premier League (NPL) and second Vice President Nigeria Football Federation, Barrister Rusom Baribote has advised the apex football governing body in the country to stick and respect all its statutes.

The Bayelsa state born football administrator who made this known on NSM Rebranded advised that the NFF shouldn’t twist its statutes just because they are not in support of the winner.

“The NFF led by Amaju Pinick are relying on article 85 force majeure of matter not provided for, he said.

“Now if that article 85 is on matter not provided for, can I take them back to article 18, section 2 of the NFF statute which clearly provides the independence of the affiliate body of which the Anambra FA is an independent body, that will be of all external interference, what they need to do is to put them on notice on when they are conducting that activity which they have rightly in line with that, they can not come and rely on the one that is in their favour and disregard the other because they dont like the person that won the election.

“Am partly Anambran, I will not sit and see Amaju and his co travellers destroy Anambra Football it’s not possible.

“I think article 33 says elections are to be conducted into the NFF board are clearly stated so since they are relying on article 85 of the NFF statutes they should respect all the provisions contains there in, he concluded.
