Bassey Receives The ‘Mantel Of Prayer’ As He Offers Prayers To Nigeria And African Grassroots Footballers

Following the tragic death of Aminu Dayo of MFMFC and two other grassroots footballers earlier this week, Ajax and Super Eagles Defender Calvin Bassey has made out time to pray for the departed players, Nigeria grassroots and African players.

“Sorry for the lost of football life’s in Nigeria 🇳🇬 I pray for there family and all Africa grassroot footballer’s I don’t know them but you God knows them all”, Bassey posted on his Facebook page.

He continued, “Dear Heavenly Father, I pray that today You would keep all Africa grassroot footballer’s and everyone on this field of play safe from harm or injury. I have come here to glorify praying. As Everyone run and tackle and block, keep them from losing their temper.

Help them opponents to stop when the whistle blows. Lord, I pray for a fair game and Training. I pray against broken legs and torn ligaments. Keep them safe and secure in the palm of Your hand. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.”

Calvin Bassey Joined Ajax from Rangers Glasgow for a club record fee.

He is currently in the Super Eagles camp in Portugal preparing for the International friendly against Worldcup bound Portugal.

Nigeria failed to qualify for the Global showpiece which begins this weekend in Qatar after they were knocked out by Ghana via the away goal rule.
