CAFCC: Rivers United Management Hails Head Of Delegation, Players And Technical Crew

The General Manager of Rivers United football club Chief Dr Okey Kpalukwu has on behalf of the management of the team, congratulated the Head of delegation to Bloemfontein Barr. Boma Iyaye, players and technical crew for winning 2-0 away from home against Bloemfontein Celtic in a CAF Confederation Cup first round first leg tie played in Bloemfontein South Africa.

“You have raised the Nigerian flag high” The Rivers United General Manager, Chief Dr Okey Kpalukwu, said in a statement.

Rivers United defeated Bloemfontein Celtic 2-0 Wednesday 23rd December 2020 at the Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium in Bloemfontein South Africa.

“We congratulate you our amiable commissioner for sports Rivers State and head of delegation Barr Boma Iyaye for your robust leadership role you played in ensuring our victory for Rivers State and Nigeria.

I also congratulate the players and technical crew led by Stanley Eguma for doing us proud. The Austin Festus-led team flew the flag of our nation proudly both in and out of field.

“They gave out their all. We congratulate them for not letting Rivers State, our number one supporter The Executive Governor of Rivers State, His Excellency, Chief Barr. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike (CON, GSSRS, POS) and Nigeria down.”

Chief Dr Okey Kpalukwu also commended Bro Felix Obuah for the promise to reward the team with two million Naira for a win and two hundred thousand Naira for each goal scored he made before the game as it did give the team the need push to win.

He also called on the team to remain focused for the second leg tie that is scheduled to hold on January 6th 2021 at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Rivers State.
