Cancelling NNL 2019/2020 Football Season By NFF Is Of The Best Interest For All – Coach Oladuni Oyekale


Coach of Nigeria National League (NNL) side Crown Football club of Ogbomoso, coach Oladuni Oyekale has expressed his satisfaction following decision taken by the Nigeria Football Federation to end the 2019/2020 football season.

The Nigeria Football Federation last week via an online meeting with board members announced the cancellation of the 2019/2020 football season however revealing the possible resumption date for 2020/2021 season.

Coach Oladuni Oyekale a former Nigeria youth international in a chat with journalist on Family United By Football, a WhatsApp group, expressed his satisfaction stating it for the good of the country.

“The cancellation of the NNL league, I think every wise person will do same, the NFF Don’t have any options than to cancel it for our sake because if we insist to play the league behind closed doors we don’t know what will happen and you know in this country if you play game behind closed doors it will still be like open door.

“So am okay with the cancellation though it painful because of my team, I won’t say we have promoted already, but we were on the verge of getting promotion we were doing well on the league, though we were second on the group with nine point but we played lesser games.

“But am okay with decision of the NFF for cancelling it, he conclude.

Coach Oladuni Oyekale represented Nigeria at the FIFA U-17 World Cup 1987 and the U-20 1989 World Cup medals at both competitions.
