Clubless Musa Not Needed In The National Team, Says Udi, Okorowanta

Former Nigerian stars Udi Duke and Tarila Okorowanta believed it will be unwise for Super Eagles handler Gernot Rohr to call up Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa for this month double header African Cup of Nations qualifiers between Benin Republic and Lessoto.

The duo believed that invitation of players to the national team should be based on current form and not by preference.

Ahmed Musa 28, has been without a club since he pathed ways with Saudi Arabia club Al Nassr in October 2020, the winger have however straggled to find himself a club after a deal to join English Premiership side Westbromish Albion broke down during the winter transfer window.

Former Super Eagles midfielder Udi Duke speaking to in an interview said “We are Inviting players on current form.

“Ahmed Musa is without a club at the moment, so we need to look at other players”,says Okorowanta.

Duke Udi who played his entire football career in the Nigerian league, won four caps with the Super Eagles between 1998 – 2002.
