Team Manager Rangers International Football Club of Enugu Barrister Amobi Ezeaku disagrees with the decision taken by League Management Company (LMC) which was rubber stamped by Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on Thursday to end the 2019/2020 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season without relegating and prompting teams.

The league body (LMC) and Club Owners resort to a decision to end the season using Point Per Game format (PPG) via votes, the decision which was thereafter been adopted by the Nigeria Football federation NFF.

The astute football administrator was a guest on a WhatsApp Portal Family United By Football (FUBF), he however wasted no time in expressing his dissatisfaction towards the decision taken to end the country’s apex league this season without Relegating and Promoting teams.

“There is no decision on earth that will be fair to everybody, my own opinion about it is, if you go to the CAF websites you will understand that there are about four options and clubs are meant to chose from any and Rangers choosed the option they chosed, which is either cancelling the league and then the teams that represented the country in the last continental games will go back or play a Super Six.

“But then the decision was subjected to voting, and voting democracy is about majority and majority carries the vote our personal opinion on this is already noted.

“I think the PPG to an extent was fair but using the PPG practically you have to understand that if there is going to be a team that will enjoy promotion (Picking continental tickets) to balance the idea behind the PPG then, teams must also be relegated.

“So I do not think it right to say there is no promotion and no Relegation in as much the members of Association of FIFA have the right to remodify this rules it must be modified to make sure that the principles of equity must be adhered to, equals must be treated equally,” he concluded.

Rangers finished on 4th position with a game at hand but wasn’t enough to guarantee a continental spot as Enyimba in lip frog them to 3rd going by the PPG format and will now flag the nations flag at next year’s CAF Confederation cup.
