Jamie Vardy currently leads the pack of goal scorer in the English Premier League having played 2674 minutes, the consistent striker now has 22 goals to his credit with 4 assists.

Vardy seems to be in a relative balance position to take the prize, especially after rediscovering his peak form over the last week.

Winning the Golden Boot would be another landmark moment for Vardy, who has been an indispensable part of his club journey from the championship up to the top flight- campaign.

However, the England International might need to work more harder as he is currently being followed closely by  Pierre-Emerick Aubameuang of Arsenal who had also played
2836 minutes with 20 Goals scored and 2 assists.

The Arsenal forward has scored three times in his last three appearances to move into second place in the goal race.

Aubameyang has netted 20 times this season, his prolific form increased Arsenal’s desire to get the Gabon international to extend a contract that expires at the end of next season.

The Gabon main man is also having his fellow African right behind him, talking about Mohammed Sallah, whose club Liverpool has won the league already.

Salah’s brace in a 3-1 win at Brighton on Wednesday took him to 19 goals, with Liverpool chasing a new Premier League points record.

Ironically, the Egyptian has more assists than any of his co-golden shoe contender. He has gathered nine assists from the season.

The race has also attracted the  Southampton Talisman, Danny Ings who is having 19 goals like Mo Sallah .

Ings’ focus is on becoming the first Golden Boot winner to play for a club outside the Premier League’s ‘big six’ since Sunderland’s Kevin Phillips in 1999-2000.

Quite promising for Ings, his exploits and most especially 4 goals in his last five matches have underlined his case for a possible England call-up when international football resumes.

On the track of golden boot rush are the likes of Sadio Mane and Sergio Kun Aguero with 16 goals each, while Marcus Rashford, Raul Jimenez and Anthony Martial are also having 15 goals in their season performances’ pouch

The remaining matches would however bear more intrigues to watch; when the race for the golden boot may last till the last day of the league.

Another interesting part is the fight for top four spot which has Chelsea, Leicester City and Manchester United rolling out their might and game plan to secure a trip to Europe major league next season.
