Crown FC edge ‘tough’ Bayelsa United 1-0 in one of the match day 12 (mid-week) fixtures of the NNL Group B2 of Southern Conference in Ogbomoso on Wednesday.
Both sides came in to the game with the urge to complement their respective run up as the first round of the league draws closer making the encounter a tense-driven one.
Fabode Olaitan fired the Ajilete Warriors to the lead in the 32nd minutes and the goal was enough for Crown FC to return back to winning ways after a goalless draw against FC One Rocket at home and 2-1 lost to Godosky FC.
Forth and back was the heat at the ends of the turf at Lautech Sports Complex with the two sides proving high sense of preparedness in worth and class.
“It was just a careless mistake from my defenders and I can’t dispute the goal but the officiating was bad. Everything was against Bayelsa United” Said Coach Diepreye of the Bayelsa team while reacting to the game.
Coach Oladunni Oyekale of Crown FC who expressed his delight about his lad’s performance justified rotation of squad in the set up against a ‘strong’ Bayelsa noting the effects of a loaded fixtures.
“Bayelsa is not a small side and tactically we really wanted to put them under pressure so that they can get tired in order to get what we want and I think it worked out” said the Assistant Coach of the Nigeria U-20.
Going forward,Oyekale revealed that his target is to amass significant points before going into the second round of the league.
Now with 18 points, Crown FC will be playing against Abia Cometh FC in their next game away from home while Bayelsa with 17 points will host J.Atete FC in Yenegoa.
