Exclusive: “MFM Will Fight For Continental Ticket Next Season” – Olalekan Gabriel

Technical Adviser of Mountain Of Fire Miracle Ministries Football club, (MFMFC) Olalekan Gabriel has said his side will put a challenge for the continental ticket next season, Owosports.com.ng reports.

MFMFC after a poor starts to the NPFL 2020/2021 season which saw them dropped into the relegation zone, the management of the club appointed Olalekan Gabriel as an interim manager following the dismissal of Coach Tolu Bolus.

He however transformed the team as they recorded a better win percentage in the second stanza of the league to finish 10th on the Nigeria Professional Football League standing with 51 points.

The former Sunshine Stars striker, credited the teams mid-season brilliant performance to hard work put in by the players couple with the love and harmony in the team.

“All we achieved last season was all about hard work and the boys playing to instructions aswell as the love and harmony in the team”, The gaffer said exclusively to www.owosports.com.ng.

Replying to a question when asked how he hope to consolidate on the performance next camping, the Coach said “I can tell you that the team will do well next season and will fight for continental ticket.

The Olukoya boys last played in the CAF Inter-club competition in 2018 their first ever involvement after a brilliant campaign in the 2016/2017 Nigerian professional football league season where they finished second with 62 points behind winners Plateau United who amazed a total of 66 points to be crowned champions.

Coach Olalekan Gabriel played as a striker during his playing days where he featured for Union Bank FC of Lagos, Sharks of Portharcourt fc, Gombe United and Sunshine Stars before being stopped by an Illness in 2005.
