Extra: Kwara’s Prodigy Ranked 11th Position In World Table Tennis Youth Ranking

Shukurat Aiyelabegan is one of the household name in Table Tennis game not just in Kwara State but in Nigeria as a whole.

As one of the brightest figure of the ping pong game, Shukurat has continued to grow in recognition amidst competition from her peers.

An attestation to her prowess and dexterity is the latest ranking released by the World Table Tennis governing body.

Having amassed 938 points, the new ranking released by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) for the U15 Girls’ Singles for the Week 15 of 2021 saw Shukurat ranked 11th position on the log of the 346 roll of players.

Another and only Nigeria in the ranking is Akeem Sadiat Alimat who occupies 39th position with 349 points.

Harimoto Miwa of Japan led the pack with 3144 points, while Goda Hana of Egypt is the first African on the log with 2666 points coming second on the table after the Japanese.

In 2018, Aiyelabegan was one of the two Nigerian sponsored by Chinese government  to China to undergo a three months training in Table Tennis.
