The moving train of the ongoing NLO Berackiah/Abigol Football Coaching Clinic has landed in Kaduna with the State government pledging it’s support for the 5-days clinic.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the capacity building programme at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna on Monday, Honourable Yakub Ibrahim, the Director of Sports in Sports ministry assured the organizers of the government support towards achieving the best of the project.
The Director urged all the participants to leverage on the training and update their knowledge about the management of the round leather game.
“Let us take advantage of this training and take it as an opportunity that comes but once, he said.
He acknowledged the clinic for the standard it has internalized in terms of approval from all the relevant authorities and mandate delivery while saying the state wouldn’t have identified with the programme if not for the values it has exuded.
He assured that the state government will provide the enabling environment upon which the programme will thrive.
“Nowadays, you can call yourself a coach if you don’t posses the skills and this is what you are going to be taught in this programme” Yakub said while stressing the importance of personal development.
The Kaduna State Football Association Chairman, Hon. Sheriff Alkazeem commended the drive of the organizers for going round the country to effect a new breathe of standard in coaching education.
While wishing them a successful outing, he assured them of the State FA support and cooperation noting that the training will aid football development in all ramifications.
With certified football instructors and resource persons from Italy and Nigeria, participants will have the opportunity to learn, un-learn and re-learn arts of football coaching and management.
The coaching clinic in Kaduna is the second phase in the North Western part of the country after the programme has earlier held in Kano last week.
The five days clinic will end on Friday 26th of February before moving to Bauchi for the North East part of the country schedule.
