Lateef On Cloud Nine After Home Debut, Applauds Coaches, Senior Players For Their Support

Teenage sensation Muritala Lateef is on cloud nine after he made his NPFL home debut for Kwara United in their 2-0 victory over Kastina United in their matchday 32 clash played at the Kwara State Stadium Complex Ilorin on Sunday.

Goals from Issa Gata and Junior Lokosa in each half was enough to hand Kwara United their fourteenth win of the season a result which takes them to 5th on the league standings.

The 15-year-old Kwara Football Academy (KFA) graduate who plays as an attacker made his debut in Kwara United’s 3-1 defeat away on Wednesday against Lobi Stars before being brought on for his second NPFL appearance which was also his home debut for the Harmony Boys.

The starlet replaced Muritala Lawal in the 86th of the game and showed some glimpse of brilliance as Kwara United cruised to a comfortable victory.

Speaking to Journalist after the victory, Muritala Lawal in an ecstatic fashion applauded the technical crew and the senior players of the club for their encouragement and support which has helped him to settle well at the club.

“I want to give thanks to my coaches and the senior men because they encourage we youth players and give us the motivation needed to adapt to the intensity of the game which has helped me to settle in at the club”.

Lateef is a 100level student of the university of Ilorin, studying history and international studies, he hails from Ilorin South in Kwara State.

Kwara United will next take on Enyimba FC at the Aba township stadium.
