Felix Aniekwe Ugonna has said MFM FC of Lagos victory over Rangers at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium on MatchDay 3 of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) was no fluke rather the team deserved the 3points.

Captain Kenedinum Chuks scored the only goal after he gave the Olukoya Boys the lead in the 45th minute, putting the ball beyond Seidu Mutawakilu, who was in goal for the Flying Antelopes.

Speaking to OwoSports.com after the game, “It was tough game and at the end mixed feelings for me as I helped MFM beat my boyhood club.

“A sweet relief too as it was an evening I won’t forget in a hurry as my family and friends were at the Cathedral to cheer my teammates and I to victory.

“Recall I made my NPFL debut here at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium last season and we lost by a lone goal. Today I made my first start and we got a win. So its good omen for me.

“Beating the Flying Antelopes was not by accident more so didn’t come easy, as we played our game, sticked to the game plan and defended well too. Happy we got a clean sheet and our second this season.”

Ugonna who had trials with Alanyaspor of Turkey at the end of last season, says the victory will spur him to give is best for the Olukoya Boys as he thanked Tony Bolus and his assistants for believing in him.

MFM FC will host Warri Wolves on Wednesday in a MatchDay 4⃣ game billed for the Agege Stadium (Soccer Temple).
