Mikel Obi Bid Farewell Message To Trabzonspor Family After He Pathway With The Turkish Team

Former Super Eagles and Chelsea legend John Obi Mikel has come out to appreciate fans for their support day after pathway with Turkish club Trabzonspor.

Ex-Chelsea legend Mikel joined Trabzonspor in the summer of 2019 signing a two year deal with an option to extend after a short loan spell at Middlesbrough’s in England.

The deal which was due to come to an end in the summer of 2021 was brought to an abstruse end with mutual consent after the midfielder raised the issue of COVID-19 pandemic and insisted of not playing during his team last weekend game in the Turkish Super Ligue.

The 2013 Afcon winner wrote on his Instagram handle as quoted: “I would like to thank all the fans for their support. I also want to say a big thanks to all my teammates, technical crew, medical team and kit men ayatabe for all we’ve achieved this season so far, wish you guys best of luck in winning the league. It was one of the hardest decision I’ve had to make, but in current situation we all need take care of our families, spend time with them and protect them”, Mikel concluded.

John Obi Mikel has had stints with Lyn Olso, Chelsea, Tiajin Teda, Middlesbrough, before joining Trabzonspor.
