Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr has admitted that his team will be pleased to play their final home game of the Cameroon 2022 African Cup of Nations qualifiers against Lesotho at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.

In bid to bring back the Super Eagles to Nigeria’s most commercial city Lagos, the Nigerian Football Federation picked the Teslim Balogun Staduim to host the up coming AFCON qualifiers in March.

Speaking to ESPN the German tatician said: “The second game, we will do it in Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos,”

“We know that this is a very special occasion with the pandemic, and we cannot have the usual [venue in] Uyo.

“But my players they like Uyo because of the facilities at the stadium.” he concluded.

The Super Eagles last played at the artificial turf of Teslim Balogun Atadium in 2011 where they defeated Serrie lone 2-1 in an International friendly.

The staduim have however gone through a facelift with the artificial turf being replaced with grass.
