NNL: “ABS FC Will Push For Promotion This Season” Olasunkanmi Mallick

General Coordinator Abubakar Bukola Saraki Football Club (ABS Ilorin FC) Olasunkanmi Mallick says the club’s main objective in the coming 2022/2023 Nigeria National League (NNL) season is to push for promotion to Nigeria’s topflight football league NPFL, www.owosports.com.ng reports.

ABS Ilorin FC last played in the NPFL in the 2016/2017 season and were relegated immediately after they finished in 18th position on the log standings with 49 points.

The club founded in 2004 first gained promotion to Nigeria’s topflight league in the 2009/2010 season before being relegated in 2012 where they ended up losing some of their top players like players Ichull Lordson Stone Evbowaine, Abdul Bashir, Akeem Onigbari, Akeem Audu and Yusuf Abubakar.

“We will push for promotion to the NPFL next season that is our major goal”, The General Coordinator told www.owosports.com.ng on Friday evening.

“We tried last season. We were almost there but had little setback towards the end of the season and couldn’t meet up with our target. We’ve highlighted what our major mistakes were from last season and we will work on them to see that our goals is achieved this season. The NPFL is where we belong and we will be back” He concluded.

ABS FC finished the 2021/2022 NNL season on 6th position with 27 points after eighteen games played in the Northern Conference Group A1.

The team have on Wednesday January 10th resumed training ahead of the 2022/2023 NNL season.
