Akwa United are two wins away from being crowned champions of the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) after they walloped Warri Wolves 3-0 in Uyo to extend its lead at the top of the table to six points ahead of Nasarawa United and Kano Pillars, Owosports.com.ng reports.
A brace from Charles Atshimene and Ubong Friday’s goal helped the Uyo based side to another home win in their quest to win the league title with four games to the end of the season.
Second-placed, Nasarawa United suffered a 3-2 defeat to Lobi Stars in Benue with all the goals being scored in the first half.
Enugu Rangers edged Kano Pillars 2-0 thanks to goals from Christian Nnaji and Archibong Eso to dent Pillar’s title challenge.
MFM FC in Lagos thrashed Plateau United 3-1, Abia Warriors, and Jigawa Golden Stars also earned home victories while Sunshine Stars and Katsina United ended in a barren draw.

Three Matches will go down tomorrow in different centers.
Kwara United will host Wikki Tourist at the Kwara State Complex Stadium Ilorin, Dakkada International in Uyo will trade tackle Adamawa United in Uyo while FC Ifeanyi Ubah will play host to Enyimba in Nnewi.
