NPFL21: Sunshine, Nasarawa Win Away, As MFM Held Abia Warriors In Okigwe


Two away win where recorded on match day six fixtures of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) played on Sunday as Sunshine Stars and Nasarawa United stunned Dakkada International and Warri wolves respectively, while MFM held Abia Warriors to a goaless in Okigwe.

Sunshine Stars defeated Dakkada 2-1 in thrilling contest at the Nest of champions in Uyo courtsey of Sadeeq Yusuf brace, after heading home from Seun Olulayo’s corner kick in the 12th minute for the opener.

Yusuf doubled Sunshine Star’s lead in the 67th minute connecting through another assist from Olulayo.

Jesam Edet pulled one back for the home team three minute after, but was only enough to serve as a consolation.

In Uzoro, Nasarawa United came back from a goal down to record a 2-1 win against their hosts Warri Wolves.

Uche Ihuarulam headed Wolves in front from a Jumbo Wisdom pinpoint cross in the 21st minute.

Silas Nwankwo equalised for Nasarawa United in the 63rd minute following poor defending by the home team.

The visitors netted the winner through Chinedu Ohanachom 12 minutes from time, to record their second away win of this campaign.

Heartland recorded their second win of the season edging out Akwa United 2-1 in Owerri.

Mfon Udoh poked the ball beyond Ikechukwu Ezenwa in the 34th minute following a pass from Seth Mayi.

Heartland rallied back through goals from Samuel Nnoshiri and Nduka Pasacal Eze.

Olawala Farayola scored a late winner as Kwara United beat FC IfeanyiUbah 1-0 in Ilorin.

In another fixture, Rangers and Lobi Stars battled to a 0-0 draw at the Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium, Enugu.
