NPFL21: Tony Boulus Elated For Starting The League On A Winning Note

Following a 2-1 win over Warri Wolves FC in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) 2020/21 season opener, MFM Head coach Tony Boulus is elated to kick start the season on positive note.

MFM started well and were gifted with an early lead in the 7th minutes through former Lobi Stars striker Ebenezer Odeyemi who rose high to head home from a conner kick to put the Olukoya boys ahead before Muyiwa Balogun doubled the lead 16 minutes later.

The seasiders however reduced the deficit four minutes later, through John Paul Chinedu as he met a perfect low cross from Jumbo Wisdom to tap into perfection beating the helpless Adeniyi Bamidele in goal for MFM.

The game however failed to produce more goals in the second half as MFM held on to secure their first victory over Warri Wolves after five attempt, with the previous results ending in two draws and two defeat for the Olukoya Boys.

The gaffer speaking to journalist after the game expressed satisfaction with the team performance in their season opener.

“It’s our plan, we came here to get a win and in the first 10 to 20 minutes we dominated and get what we wanted, so I’m happy with the result, we move focus to next game.

“I’m very happy that the league is back, eight months is long time sitting at home and not doing anything.” He told the press.

MFM will travel next to Makurdi to face Lobi Stars in the NPFL week two fixtures.
