Three were couple of shocking results as the NWFL Premiership gets into Matchday 11. Defending Champions, Rivers Angels were beaten at home by relegation threatened Royal Queens, Naija Ratels traveled to the Abubakar Pantanmi Stadium, Gombe to record their first away victory of the season, while Osun Babes won Nasarawa Amazons 1-0 at the Lanreleke Stadium, Ile-Ogbo.

Premier League newbies, Naija Ratels put in a magnificent display at the Abubakar Pantanmi Stadium, Gombe to condemn Adamawa Queens to their third home defeat this season in a five goal thriller.

Coming off from a heavy defeat at home last week in the hands of Edo Queens, the Bankole Olowookeere’s side conceded an early goal in the 6th minute through a goal scored by experienced forward Ijeoma Obi. Ratels Defender Anani Oluwaseun scored her first goal of the season in the 43rd minute, to level up for the visitor.

New entrant Agama Ziperekefhege gave Ratels the lead in the 58th minute and Aminat Folorunsho who was just coming back to the squad after some time off scored the visitor’s third in the 85th minute. With time ticking off, Eunice Ezeani put one up for the Fintiri Ladies’ in injury time to end the game at 2-3 in favour of Naija Ratels.

In Porthacourt, Defending Champions, Rivers Angels suffered a shocking 3-1 defeat in the hands of the Canadian Geese. In form Royal Queens midfielder, Tosin Ogundeko scored another brace in the 9th and 67th minute. While Maryann Ezeanagu of Rivers Angels and Rosemary Adesina scored in the 25th and 52nd minute respectively.

Despite losing at home, Rivers Angels still remains on top of the log with 19 points.

Osun Babes recorded an important win at home, when they faced Nasarawa Amazons. The Omoluabi Queens’ gave the visitors plenty to think about, and eventually made it count in the 33rd minute, through a goal scored by Maryann Ezeanagu.

Bayelsa Queens Cruised to a 2-0 victory over visiting FC Robo Queens at the Samson Siasia Stadium, Yenagoa. It was a game filled with lot of chances from both ends, but the home side were more clinical and made it count in the 15th and 88th minutes, through goals scored by Mercy Itimi and Etim Edidiong.

Former Sunshine Queens midfielder Abideen Suliat was on hand to score twice for Edo Queens as they went past Confluence Queens at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin on Wednesday evening. Abideen scored in the 24th and 42nd minute to ensure Edo Queens continue with their near-perfect form this season.

Sunshine Queens suffered yet another defeat Infront of their home fans. The Betty Babes have now lost three games at home this season and are rooted bottom in Group B.
