Newly-promoted Italian serie A side Venezia have officially announced the signing of Super Eagles right-back Tyronne Ebuhei from Portuguese top-flight side Benfica on a season long loan deal with an option to buy, Owosports.com.ng reports.
The Lagunari earned promotion from Serie B via the play-offs, last season alongside Empoli and Salernitana.
The 24-year-old spent last season on loan at FC Twente where he impressed scoring one goal and provided one assist in 33 Eredivisie appearances, Dutch side where however unable to activate his buy out options as they couldn’t meet up with Benfica’s demands.
The defender becomes the third major signing for Venezia after the arrival LASK left-back David Schnegg and Maccabi Tel Aviv midfielder Dor Peretz.
There is however an obligation to make the deal permanent should the club avoid the drop ahead of the 2022-2023 season.
