Southampton have completed the signing of Nigerian Forward Paul Ebere Onuachu from Belgian Club KRC Genk, subject to a work permit and international clearance.

The 28-year-old joins from Jupiler Pro League KRC Genk and Penned to paper a contract that will see him stay at Southampton for four years.

The Super Eagles player has been impressive this season scoring 16 goals to help Genk sit at the top of the Belgian league.

In total, he scored 79 goals in 114 games for the Belgian club, after he joined them in 2019 from FC Midtjylland.

The sixteen-cap Nigerian International first moved to Europe with FC Midtjylland from F.C. Ebedei in Ogun state Nigeria, followed by a loan stint at Velje Boldklub before his transfer to KRC Genk where he has since departed for the Premier League.

Making his debut couldn’t come too soon for Southampton who crashed out of the EFL Cup after a defeat away at Newcastle United on Tuesday night.
