Osimhen Gives Chelsea, United Green Light On Premiership Move

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has given premier league clubs the nod admits transfer speculations after revealing he is working hard to achieve his dream of playing in the Premier League, Owosports.com.ng reports.

The 24-year-old is enjoying the best scoring season of his career with Napoli, having joined the Italian side for €70million (£62.1m; $74.8m) in the summer of 2020.

The inform Nigerian International has scored 21 goals in all competitions amid Napoli’s blistering run to the top of Serie A has seen him attract plenty of interest across Europe.

And on Monday, Osimhen spoke about his future while receiving an award from the foreign press.

“I think playing in one of the top five leagues in the world (Serie A) is an amazing feeling for me,” Osimhen said.

“A lot of people worldwide consider the Premier League as the best and the strongest league but now I’m in one of the best leagues in the world which is the Italian Serie A.

“I’m working so hard to make sure that I achieve my dream of playing in the Premier League some day but like I said, it’s a process and I just want to keep on this momentum and continue to do well.”

Osimhen’s 21 goals in 26 matches across all competitions so far this season is already the most he has ever scored in a single campaign.

His contibutions have been a huge factor in Napoli’s success, with Luciano Spalletti’s side 15 points clear at the top of Serie A standings.

Osimhen, who spent time at German side Wolfsburg and Belgian club Charleroi before joining Lille, also spoke about the difference between playing in Serie A and elsewhere.

“In Italy, it’s a different kind of football,” he added. “It’s really intense and of course, the fans are really really, really loud.

“Even when we’re not playing, when they see a player in the street or in a restaurant, they want to show their love and appreciation for them and wish them well and continue to support them. I think for me in this aspect Serie A is the best.”

Napoli continue their Serie A campaign against Atalanta on Saturday, before hosting Eintracht next Wednesday in the Champions League.
