Patson Daka Confirms ‘Dream’ Leicester City Move


Zambia striker Patson Daka has confirmed he is his moving to English Premiership side Leicester City to team up with Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi can report.

The 22-year- old told media in Austria that he will leave RB Salzburg and head to the King Power Stadium to follow his Premier League dream, with the move set to cost an initial £23m.

“I will go to England and move to Leicester City. I had a great time here, Salzburg has become my second home. I will always be happy to come back here, but the Premier League has always been my big dream.”he said.

Leicester City are understood to be in the market for a striker this window with Brendan Rodgers keen to add more goals to his side.

Daka is a proven goal getter something he is certain to provide if he continues his outstanding record where he bagged in 34 goals in 42 appearances in all competitions this season, including 27 in 28 league games as Salzburg lifted an eighth straight title.

He has been with the Austrian club for four seasons, will now look to compete with Jamie Vardy and Kelechi Iheanacho for a role up front in Rodgers’ side.

While Daka should be able to make an immediate impact, he is also seen as a long-term replacement for Vardy, with the Zambian due to sign a five-year contract.

Vardy, the club’s fourth all-time top scorer, will turn 35 during the upcoming campaign and has two years left on his deal.
