Ref Ogunyamodi lectures Sunshine Stars on new officiating rules

Sunshine Stars of Akure officials and players were on Tuesday in Ibadan schooled on the new refeering rules in a workshop anchored by retired FIFA badged referee, Henry Ogunyamodi.

Ogunyamodi took time to sensitize and educate the Owena Whales and officials on the latest trends and rules change as eshrined in the law book of the game.

The club’s Media Officer, Chris Okunnuwa told OwoSports.com, “Among other things discussed during the session was the rule change on kick off, handball incidents, defensive wall, fair play, substitution and the need to always show respect and abide by the referees’ decisions.

“Above all, the ex match official stressed that it was important that the players who are the main actors on the pitch respect and abide by the decisions of the match officials like wise those on the bench as they too must be mindful of our conducts on the technical bench.”

Sunshine Stars played out a 1-1 draw with Kwara United, defeated ABS 5-2 in Ilorin, and the coach Kabiru Dogo charges will engage Southwest rivals 3SC tomorrow in their last warm up match before returning to Akure to host Warri Wolves on Sunday.
