Stephen Jude Sets NPFL Goal Target After Free Kick Goal Against Lobi Stars


Stephen Jude became the icing on the cake of the match day 8 battle between Kwara United and Lobi Stars as he scored a brilliant free kick in the 76th minutes to give the Kwara state own team the much needed three maximum points at home.

His master class goal came after Chris Nwaeze had scored the opener for Kwara United in the 60th minutes.

Stephen’s goal would eventually placed Kwara United at a safe side of the match even as Lobi fought back at the twilight of the game to share the spoil with the home side – sourcing their inspiration from the Samuel Tiza’s 80th minutes strike against coach Biffo tutored side.

Jude, who also scored the decisive ‘lone’ goal against Enyimba FC during the rescheduled match day 2 fixtures in Ilorin continued with his impressive form that has kept him in the first roll of call for the Coach Biffo led side since the season started.

Speaking exclusively to after the game which saw his side moving up third on the NPFL log, he expressed his delight at his feat while also thanking God for the ‘blessings’ of the goal.

“We really appreciate God for the victory, he said.

Bearing his mind about his consistency on the line-up in a star-studded team, the youngster believes that the coaching crew of the team has really motivated him towards a top-notch performance.

“I really want to say a very big thanks to the coaching crew of the team especially the Head coach and the assistant coach- they have been giving me the courage that I can do it and they never relent because they are the one helping me with the constitency”Jude said.

Expressing his feelings at scoring another decisive goal for his team ,the attacker revealed that he has always practiced free kick in training sessions and he is happy to witness the manifestation in a very critical time.

‘I feel very happy scoring the freekick because we have been trying that in training and thank God it finally came when it’s needed most”

While hoping to score more goals, Jude reitrated the commitment
and common goal of the Harmony Boys towards securing a continental ticket at the end of the season.

“For me , all my target is that I am hoping on God for more goals to come and for the team to get continental ticket’

Stephen ,who specifically said he is targeting a double digits goal record at the end of the season said his team will push hard to achieve all their targets.

“I have the target of at least 10 goals because I want to achieve double figures” Jude quipped.

Kwara United will be slugging it out with Sunshine Stars FC of Akure in one of the fixtures of the match day 9 of the NPFL season.
