It was a massive win as Lagos based side MFM FC got their first home win of the season in the match day eight of Nigeria Professional Football League 2019/2020 season against Akwa United played at the Soccer Temple, Agege Stadium on Friday.

The Olukoya boys defeated 2017 Aiteo Cup champions Akwa United 3-0 in a match that saw Team 360 FC product Alade Balogun netting a second half brace as a substitute.

Clement Ogwu scored the first goal via penalty kick on 42 minutes, after Tunde Azeez was brought down inside Akwa penalty area.

Alade Balogun popped up with a second half brace and condemned the Promise Keepers to yet another defeat.

Alade came in for Dennis Obasi in the 69th minute of play and doubled the home team lead five minutes he was introduced and completed his brace eight minutes before regulation period.

The three goals and three points excited Coach Tony Bolus as he noted that the victory was a deserved one.

“We started with winning ways and having worked on the lapses of the team we get this results today.

Alade balogun was probably yet another positive effect in the game as he came from the bench to bag a brace that pushed the home team to a deserved victory.

While speaking to newsmen after the game, the attacker who has an assist to his credit before said he would leverage on his recent form and train harder to establish himself more.

“It has already started and hopefully and by training more harder things would get better.

Yet a super sub, when asked on how the brace can influence his space in the starting line up of the team, Alade said the coach is in charge while adding that he is always ready to do the job and deliver whenever he is called upon.

“No target for now, I am only focusing on the game and improve on it”, the attacker responded while quipped of his long term goal as he dedicated the brace scored to his mother, who he said has been supportive of his dream.

“I’m dedicating the two goals to my mother, she has always been there for me, she always pray for me before and after any match.
