WAFU B U-17: Eaglets Concludes Screening Programme, As Fatai Amoo Shuts Doors

Handler of the Nigerian Under 17 national team, coach Fatai Amoo has announced his decision to shut doors on open screening as the Golden Eaglet enters next phase of preparation, owosports.com.ng

The Golden Eaglets who are preparing ahead of the U17 AFCON for the WAFU Zone 2 qualifiers began it Screening programme on the 13th of November 2020 at the NFF\FIFA Goal Project in Abuja under tutelage watch of coach Fatai Amoo in a bid to find the next set of budding talents for the U-17 national team.

Amoo speaking to www brila.net, he said the team is currently having sixty players which will be trimmed down to thirty before the downsizing to the final twenty in the long run.

“The shape of the team is not really there yet, we are doing everything humanly possible to make sure we get there.”

“Right now, we have sixty players in the camp but we will trim them to thirty then to twenty which will be the last set of players that will be in the camp for the Championship,” he said.

The Golden Eaglets have been drawn alongside Black Starlets of Ghana, and their Ivory Coast counterparts for the WAFU U17 Qualifying Tournament.
