Walid Regragui Named Amongst Nominees For The Best FIFA Men’s Coach Award

Morocco’s head coach Walid Regragui has been named among other top coaches for the best FIFA men’s football coach award to be given to the most outstanding coach in 2022.

The 47-year-old and his Moroccan side were the talking points at the recent world cup in Qatar as they unexpectedly achieved the feat of becoming the first African country to reach the semi-finals of the world cup.

The former Racing Santander of Spain defender will not forget the year 2022 so fast after leading the Moroccan club Wydad AC to the Caf champions league title and guiding Morocco to 4th place position at the World Cup.

His remarkable achievements in 2022 ensured his name among other outstanding coaches like Carlo Ancelotti (Real Madrid), Didier Deschamps(France), Pep Guardiola(Manchester City), and Lionel Scaloni who led his country Argentina to glory in Qatar.

Walid Regragui will aim to be the first African representative to win the award and former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel is the current holder and was awarded for leading the London club to the Uefa Champions League victory in 2022.
