President of Nigeria Taekwondo Federation Abdullahi Saidu Baba has disclosed that the federation will strive and build on the Athletes from the ongoing National Sports Festival Delta 2022.
Speaking with the Nigeria Taekwondo Federation Media, Abdullahi Saidu gave a good appraisal of everybody the athletes, official and coaches here present for showing good behaviours.
“it`s 4 days of smooth running of events and we are gradually rounding of tomorrow we only having few events left with good cooperation from the coaches, athletes and the officials doing their best to ensuring that there is fairness in the competition”.
He maintained that this year sports festival has opened up the exposure in different phases for the athletes that are participating in the taekwondo event.
“I can tell you that this year National Sports Festival is a blend of both the old faces and the new faces, where the upcoming ones are supposed to take over from the old ones. For some of them is their first experience, for some is to gain more exposure but I think they have done better”.
Abdullahi Saidu Baba therefore disclosed that the federation will move into National camp early enough in order to keep the athletes ready ahead of the All-Africa Games.
“What the federation is planning to do is to call potential national team athletes to national camp in order to groom them, we would do camping, trials and also go for some championship them come back to camp where the ministry of youth and sports development will now take responsibilities because we want to go to the All-Africa Games to win and break all the old records that have been set.
