Football continues this weekend across Europe as Nigerian players abroad pose a decent representation.

In the English Premier League, Super Eagles striker Kelechi Iheanacho looks to have gotten back his goal scoring boots as he netted the opener just after the break at the King Power staduim as Leicester city beats Crystal Palace 3-0.

The goal ensured that he reached double figures for the first time since his breakout season in England after also scoring back to back EPL goals for the first time since 2018 after scored against Everton on Thursday in Leicester City 2-1 defeat.


Iheanacho didn’t exceed 64 minutes on the pitch while Wilfred Ndidi made sure he completed the game as the midfield marshal.

At the Theatres of Dreams former Super Eagles striker Odion Ighalo saw 10 minutes of action as rampant Manchester United beat helpless Bournemouth 5-2 with a brace from Mason Greenwood, goals from Macus Rashford, Anthony Martial and winter signing Bruno Fernandes completed the rout.

Ighalo came off the bench in the 80th minutes to replace Anthony Martial, he however came close to scoring after Daniel James put him through on goal but he saw his effort go narrowly wide.

In the Championship, Semi Ajayi was an unused substitute for West Bromwich Albion in their 4 -2 victory over Hull city.

In the Portuguese Primeira Liga Super Eagles Midfielder Mikel Agu was reliable for Victoria Guimaraes.

The 28-year-old was on from start to finish as his Portuguese side picked up a much needed 3 point beating Portimonens right at the Eatadio Municipal de Portimao putting an end to winless run of four games.


In the Italian Serie A, William Troost Ekong was on for the entire duration as Udinese surrendered a two goal lead as they played out a 2-2 draw with Genoa.

Elsewhere Victor Moses was not listed in Antonio Conte’s side that lost 1-2 to Bologna at the Station Giuseppe’s Meazza to put a dent to their title hopes.

In the Spanish Laliga, Super Eagles Midfielder Ogenekaro Etebo was also missing in action for Gatefe as they picked up a vital point away at Osasuna.

Chidozie Awaziem was a 81st minutes substitute for Leganes as they got themselves a crucial away win at the RCDE Stadium to brighten their Chance of survival as Leganes beat Espanyol 1-0.

Kenneth Omeruro was missing for Leganes as he is still nursing an injury.

Samuel Chukwueze couldn’t resuce Villarreal as they were mauled with heavy defeat to wounded Barcelona, the 21-year-old saw full action as he witnessed his side 4-1 trashing at the Eatadio De La Ceramica.
