Nigeria National Men’s Basketball Team, D’TIGERS earned a hard fought 72 – 70 points Victory over Mali in their second Group A game of the 2023 FIBA Worldcup qualifiers on Saturday at the Pavilhao Multiusos Acacias Rubras, been Benguela, Angola.
Nigeria started well as they won the first quarter 16-15 before falling behind in the second quarter 14-24, then went ahead to claim the third and fourth quarter 23-16, and 19-15 point.
Returning Ike Diogu was the top performer of the day as he recorded 19 points with Five rebouns and one assist.
The victory however keeps D’tigers hopes alive after they suffered a disappointing defeat to Cape Verde in their opening game on Friday.
