Kwara State recently witnessed a grand celebration of sports excellence as the Abdul Momoh Photography Masterclass Ambassadorial Awards recognized outstanding sports personalities in the state.
The awards honored the contributions of esteemed individuals who have made significant impacts on sports development in Kwara State.
The highlight of the event was the special recognition of Coach Aliyu Zubair, the Nigeria U20 head coach and El-Kanemi Warriors, who led the Flying Eagles to clinch the WAFU B championship in Togo, securing Nigeria’s participation in next year’s U-20 AFCON, he also won the President Federation Cup and also qualified El-Kanemi Warriors to the Nigeria premier football league.
Other notable awardees included are former Kwara United Coach Abuduliahi Biffo, Chairman of Abraysports FC Abdullah Yussuf, Chairman of the Sports Writers Association (SWAN) Kwara State chapter Ayodeji Ismail, and Secretary Dare Kuti.
Additionally, ABS Ilorin FC’s head of media Tosh Michaels, Odetunde Michael of Royal FM, Yemi Sodeeq of SportsPro, and Yemi Adewale of Flow FM were honored with commemorative medals for their tireless efforts in promoting sports development in the state.
Coordinator of ABS Ilorin Football, Mallam Jimoh Bashir and CEO Just Event, Aiyelabegan Abdulrasaq also received commemorative medals for their contributions to sports in the state.
