The Oluyole Warriors kicked off their new league campaign in front of a passionate Ibadan crowd, but despite the energy in the stands, Shooting Stars fell 1–0 to Bayelsa United in a hard-fought opener.

The decisive moment came on 30 minutes when Kehinde Lawal rose highest to nod home from a corner, capitalizing on a lapse in concentration from the hosts.

From then on, 3SC pressed relentlessly, especially in the second half, creating several chances. However, Bayelsa United’s goalkeeper stood firm, pulling off key saves to frustrate the home side’s search for an equalizer.

Although the match ended in disappointment, Shooting Stars were applauded off the pitch by their loyal supporters, who recognized the fight and determination shown. The narrow defeat may sting, but the performance suggests there is plenty to build on as the season unfolds.
