7th NYG: Football, Basketball, Volleyball Missing As Kwara State Contingent Depart For Asaba On Wednesday


Kwara State Sports Commission chairman Mallam Bola Magaji has announced the state contingent will depart on Wednesday 20th September for the 7th National Youth Games holding in Asaba Delta State which commences on 21st on this month.

The contingents comprises Athletes, Coaches, Secretaries, Helpers , Interpreters, Board Members, Cleaners and Medical.

The Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission, Mallam Bola Magaji stated this on Monday while addressing Press in Ilorin ahead of their denature.

Mallam Bola Magaji who revealed that the state has recorded a huge success in the history of national youth games, ranking first to tenth on the medal’s table in the previous editions, commended Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s administration for sustaining an enabling environment through prompt release of funds and improve infrastructural development.

” I will also like to take you round the activities unfolded in the course of preparation for the games. Athletes were engage in open and close camping which would eventually ends Wednesday”

He explained that the athletes were generally under intensive training for more than two months before the postponement which gave them another opportunity and time to prepare.

He assured contingent of the commission’s resolve to leave no stone unturned to achieve more success for the state .

Kwara came 7th in the last youth games which held in Ilorin while this year’s edition starts as from 20th and ends on 30th of this month.
