Mavlon FC Head Coach Abdulrahman Jabala and his captain Ogba Emmanuel have rued their team’s 5-0 trashing to 2021 AITEO cup finalists Nasarawa United in the ongoing Unity Preseason Tournament in Abuja.

Nasarawa United Abdulahi Aliu earned the Man of the Match award after he bagged a brace with the trio of Osanga King, Dauda Maigashiri and Chijoke Alex adding their names on the goal scorers sheet against the non-league side, as the Solid Miners handed the Jabala side their second loss in the championship.

In their respective post-match chat, Jabala said: “I am displeased with the result but looking at the quality in Nasarawa United, they truly deserved the 3points.

” Mind you it’s not as if we didn’t put up a good fight against them. You sometimes get such results when you play such an experienced team.

“But I didn’t wish for this kind of a scoreline, however, my team is here to get exposed to the rudiments of the game and learn one or two things from the experienced players.”

In Ogba’s words, “A bad outing for the team, I want to state here that since the existence of the club, we have never lost by this wide margin.

Asked if the team stood a chance of qualifying if they possibly win their next match.

“The results from the other matches in the group would determine if we could stand a chance of going to the next stage as best losers but if the chance presents itself we will go all out for a win in our next game.”

Mavlon FC will be seeking redemption in the final Group game against Cynosure on Wednesday.
