Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice of Nasarawa State, Barr. Isaac Danladi, has expressed strong support for Kwara United FC ahead of their historic appearance in the final of the 2025 President Federation Cup, scheduled to take place at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos on Saturday, June 28.
Speaking at a special reception held in his honour by his close ally and Director of Football ABS FC Chief Alloy Chukwuemeka in Ilorin Sunday, Danladi said, he is optimistic that kwara will lift the trophy.
Barr. Danladi, who is in Kwara on an official assignment to attend a Roundtable Engagement of Honourable Attorneys-General of North Central States under the auspices of the Institute for Corporate and Public Sector Law (ICPCL), used the occasion to rally support for the North Central representatives in the final of Nigeria’s oldest football competition.
“We are here under the auspices of ICPCL to strengthen the collective fight against corruption,” he explained, emphasizing the importance of collaboration, not just in governance but also in sports development.
In what will be a first in the club’s history, Kwara United will square off against Abakaliki FC in the men’s final, while Nasarawa Amazons will compete in the women’s final — a potential double triumph for the North Central region.
Speaking with emotion and conviction, Barr. Danladi praised the unity and camaraderie he witnessed among Kwara Sports stakeholders during his visit.
“Incidentally, I can see all the former chairmen of Kwara United, including the present GM and ABS FC officials, seated together and sharing drinks. That speaks volumes. It shows that Kwara is truly a state of harmony,” he noted.
“I left a gathering of so-called big men just to join my friends here. Even the Honourable Attorney General of Kwara State is here with us. That sense of unity is powerful, and I urge you all to sustain it. A house divided against itself cannot stand.”
Looking ahead to the final, the former Nasarawa United chairman expressed unshakable faith in Kwara United’s chances:
“By the special grace of God, come June 28th, Kwara United will lift the trophy — not just for Kwara State but for the entire North Central. I will be there to support the team, to lift the trophy, kiss it, and even drink water from it.”
He also tipped Nasarawa Amazons to emerge victorious in the women’s category, calling for a clean sweep of the titles:
“With His Excellency, the Governor of Kwara State, as Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, and my Governor as Chairman of the North Central Governors’ Forum, there is already synergy and collaboration. Their unity should serve as an example for us all.”
Overwhelmed with emotion, Barr. Danladi rounded off his remarks with a heartfelt message of gratitude and service:
“Honestly, I don’t want to shed tears, but I’m overwhelmed by the prayers and goodwill I’ve received. I promise before God and man — I will not disappoint you. Every position I have held is for all of you. Anyone here can call me and I will always respond. That’s a promise I intend to keep.”
