Chairman of Abraysports Football Club, Yusuf Abdullahi has applauded the Main Organising Committee (MOC) of the 2023 Emir of Ilorin Cup for it’s initiative.
The Chairman of the NLO Club Chairmen in Kwara State, while speaking with journalists said it was his first time witnessing this number of teams participating in a competition like this anywhere in the State with almost all the Taitiary Institution in the State are playing which he affirm as a testament of football development.
“I know we have a good squad and I expect that we are going to get far in this tournament”, He said while reacting to his team 1-0 victory over Police Machine in their tournament’s second group game.
“We all knew the match was going to be physical, the Police Machine team is a very physical team, so we were prepared. We came with a game plan and we got the win”, He added.
“We are champions of Amapro and we are the incoming champions of Emir of Ilorin Cup” he affirmed.
Talking about the organisation of the tournament where he commended the Organisers led by Former board member of the Nigeria premier league and Former Vice Chairman of Kwara United Alahji Abdulrasaq Adebayo Owolabi.
“The Emir of Ilorin Cup has been impressive, thumbs up to the Organisers they’ve done a fantastic job. A lot of teams are involved. Since I have been here this is the first time I am seeing a competition that allows lots of teams to register and play.
This tournament has all the Taitiary Institution in the State from Kwara Poly, Unilorin, College of education all participating which Is a good testament to football development in Kwara”. He concluded.
Abraysports FC who have sealed their place into the second round of the competition following two wins from two will next take on La Planet in their final Group G fixture.
