Coach Tony Encho of ABS Ilorin FC has noted bad officiating as the cause of his team 2-1 defeat to Kebbi United in their NNL group A2 match week 15 on Wednesday.
The Cameroonian claimed in his post match interview that his team were denied two penalties that could have turned the tide of the match in their favour.
“I would like to say the truth, my players have always played their best in away matches, so the referee in this game take charge of the game and decided who to favour”
He lamented the ‘home must win syndrome’ as the ever present impression torch-bearing the league whilst adding that the phenomenon will serve the league no good
“We played first half and it was pretty good. But in the second half we have two penalties and the referee refused to give it and it’s clear penalties” he laments
Encho who emphasized the need to improve the league also said the bad state of the pitch where the match was played isn’t good for the fluidity of football even as he said it’s still fair against many venues.
“We are not helping them because if you continue to blow this type of game you can’t see good talent. Let’s allow the boys to play and see the real talent” the tactician quipped.
Kebbi United came from behind in the match to secure their sixth win of the season against the ‘Saraki Army’.
ABS Ilorin FC are now currently seating 4th on the group A2 of the NNL northern conference with 21 points while Kebbi United are 5th placed with 20 points.
