Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) Ilorin Football Club has emerged as the champion of the inaugural Offa Pre-Season Tournament. The Saraki Boys defeated Offa Football Club 2-0 at the Offa Township Stadium in Offa on Friday evening.
Jamiu Sa’ad scored the opening goal in the 12th minute, while Boluwatife Ajina sealed the victory with a late goal in the second half.
Technical Adviser Sani Ahmed Sarduana expressed his delight with the team’s performance, stating that the victory is a testament to the team’s progress towards achieving their goal of securing promotion to the Nigeria Professional Football League.
“This victory means a lot to us. It shows we are on the right path,” Sarduana said. “Our vision remains to gain promotion to the Nigeria Professional Football League, and we are in the process.”
Sarduana also praised the team’s young players, particularly Boluwatife Ajina for his speed and skill displayed to get the second goal.
“The young players have shown great potential, and we are excited for his growth and development,” Sarduana said.
Goalkeeper Onome Ashaku emerged as the goalkeeper of the tournament having kept a clean sheet in all of the four matches he played.
With this victory, ABS Ilorin FC has taken a significant step towards achieving their goals, and fans can look forward to an exciting season ahead.
