Senior Special Assistant on Grassroots Sports Development to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Adeboye Anthony Adeyinka, has assured Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle of the president’s full backing and support.
Adeboye made this assertion when Chelle paid him a courtesy visit in his office in Abuja to discuss strategies for the Eagles’ success, including qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
“The president is fully in support of you to succeed in your endeavors with the Super Eagles,” Adeboye said. “The first assignment is the World Cup qualifiers this month, and the president has put everything in place for a smooth qualification process.”
Adeboye commended Chelle’s visit, stating that it demonstrates the coach’s commitment to his job. He also emphasized the importance of the World Cup to Nigerians, assuring Chelle that he and the sports commission will provide their best support to ensure the Eagles’ success.
“We stakeholders in sports are doing everything possible to ensure the Super Eagles get a World Cup ticket,” Adeboye concluded. “As the special assistant to the president, I assure you that we will help you take the Eagles to the desired destination.”
