Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has declared himself available to represent Nigeria at next year’s Africa cup of Nations to be staged in Cameroon, Owosports.com.ng reports
The striker recently returned to training with a mask putting an end to an initial scare of missing out on the chance to represent Nigeria at next year’s Africa biggest football showpiece in Cameroon following a terrible collision with Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar in their Italian serie A clash in November which had earlier ruled him out for three months.
According to reports in Italy, the 22-year-old is expected to return to full action on January 16 against Bologna which means he misses out of the African cup of Nations that would begin on January 9th, but that wouldn’t be the case as the striker has declared himself ready to represent Nigeria at the competition in Cameroon.
“I will be available for AFCON ? unless if I am not among the players picked to represent Nigeria”, Osimhem tweeted via his official Twitter account.
Nigeria who have been drawn in group D alongside, Guinea Bissau, Egypt and Sudan, will begin their camping against Egypt on Tuesday January 11th 2022.
