Super Eagles Supporters Club (SESC) National President: Dr (Barr) Johnson Emewoei Dagana has assured that its members would be on ground en masse to garner support for the Super Eagles as they bid for the country’s 4th AFCON title in Cote D’Ivoire.
The Bayelsa State born football administrator speaking recently with journalists in Ilorin, further revealed that the association are working tirelessly and are currently in talks with 1X Bet to see how they can partner with the association to mobilise their members to Cote d’Ivoire.
“We are talking with 1XBet and we believe that something good will come out of it and also within us we are taking steps to see how we can source for the required funds ti ensure that the association is well represented in Cote d’Ivoire”. He said.
“We are more concerned about seeing our members in Cote d’Ivoire but if on your own as a Nigerian you are there we would integrate you. We always encourage our people, even in Cote d’Ivoire we have a chapter there, we are in talk with them and we are believing that they are also putting things in place and preparation in full gear to receive us.
When asked on the promptness of the supporters in getting to the match venues to support the team he said arrangements have been made to transport the members to Cote d’Ivoire Vai road and Air and also an internal arrangement has been made to ensure smooth movement of the members in Cote D’Ivoire.
“That is as a result of logistics problems and these are things that we have as challenges like you said we have as much as possible put these things in place and we believe that we will always overcome that.
“We already have air-conditioned vehicles available arrangements have been made on how they are going to transport those that would go by road, and those who would go by air we’ve also spoken with some airlines on subsidised rate to see how we can airlift our members to Cote d’Ivoire. And over there too like when we went to Algeria, we made an internal arrangement with our people over there that would ensure that our people are transported to all match venues as quickly as possible.
Yes as matter of fact I must say there were no proper handovers. One thing that is constant in life is change and when changes come we should be ready to accept it. but if somebody somewhere believes he owns the club I will always find it so funny.
The National President also spoke on the legitimate ownership of the association and how it was registered by like minds who made up the board of trustees.
“Super Eagles Supporters Club was registered by like minds and that is why we have members of board of trustees so one individual cannot claim ownership of it. He (Okumagba) doesn’t have the certificate. We have the certificate, when someone nicodemously connives with some unscrupulous elements in CAC and they decide to remove some names of the board of trustees members and then add other names.
There is a chairman of the Board of trustees who had approached the court to say that I am the Chairman of the board of trustees and I have other members that an individual cannot take off their names”. He concluded.
