Akinade Excited With Home Win Over Wikki Tourists

Technical Adviser of Doma United Akinade Onigbinde waa delighted with his players’ performance after their 2-0 win over Wikki Tourists at the Pantami Stadium on Sunday.

Goals from Usman Musa shot the Savannah Tigers to second the log of group B and left Wikki 10th battling for relegation.

“I feel very excited, it is a great feeling indeed, I am delighted that our players played according to instruction and executed our game plan perfectly and thank God it worked for us”. He said in a post match interview.

On United’s current position on the log, the gaffer said “that is where we want to be and our aim is to play our remaining matches and remain there. Our next game is against Bayelsa United and they are playing well. We will prepare well for them.”

Asked if United who is debuting in the NPFL is now rubbing shoulders with the big boys, he said “whatever we have achieved or trying to achieve is as a result of our collective efforts. Both the management and players. I have said it severally, Doma United have come to stay. Whoever underrate Doma United, he is doing that at his own peril”.

On his part, the match winner Usman Musa was excited to have scored a brace and added to his goal tally “I am excited really. I thank God for giving me the chance to score goals and also I must appreciate my team mates who work tireless and have been supportive. I have prepared to score more goals and in sha Allah, I will score more goals against Bayelsa. It was unfortunate that I picked up an injury recently but with help of my medics I was able to shake it off and I ma back again to continue from where I stopped”.

Doma United will next face Bayelsa United on Sunday 23rd April, 2023 at the Pantami Stadium.
