Alalade Excited With First Goal For Lobi Stars, Says More To Come

Lobi Stars striker Wasiu Alalade has expressed his excitement after he netted his first goal for the club in their hard earn 3-2 victory over reigning champions River United in the rescheduled fixture of the Nigeria Premier League Football League (NPFL).

The striker who joined from Kwara United headed the host in front on the 86th minutes to open his goal account for the Makurdi based side.

“I am happy to have scored my first goal for the club, it was an important goal for me and even more important to get the win against the champions”, He told Owosports.com.ng.

“It’s is just the beginning the fans should expect more goals from me but the most important thing will be to see the club up there” He said.

A well taken free kick from Mohammed Farouk gave the visitors lead on the 66th minutes, Abba Umar drew the host level on the 69th minutes after Elijah Ani lays a precise pass to the attacker inside the 18 yard box and his left footed strike would beat goalkeeper Darlington Ovunda of Rivers United

Wasiu Alalade then gave Lobi Stars the lead when he met a lovely cross from John Lazarus to head the host ahead.

It was a late drama as Chiamaka Madu drew the visitors level after a well taken corner kick by Ebube Duru but John Lazarus would break the heart of the visitors as he met perfectly with Elijah Ani cross to head in the winner for the host as it ended 3-2 in favour of Lobi Stars.

Lobi Stars now tops Group B with 26 points after 13 games, River United in second position with 20 points after 12 games.
