Algeria midfielder Nabil Bentaleb is eager to regain his place in the Desert Foxes following being left out of the team for a long period.

However, because of his strong performances for Angers in the Ligue 1 this season, the former Tottenham Hotspur academy graduate was named in the squad for the friendlies against Guinea and Nigeria.

The 27-year-old Midfielder who last featured for the North Africans side three and half years ago stated that he came to take back his position when speaking with FAFTV.

“I came to regain my place. I’m here, and it’s my second birth. I was away for a very long time, and in football you have to prove every day.”

“My objective is to be present at the next camp, and I know that it will go through performance in training and matches, we will give 100% and the rest we will see,”he added.

Bantaleb who joined French Ligue 1 side Angers on a two-and-a-half year contract last January also talked about his performance for his new club.

“I found a lot of playing time, my confidence, I worked hard for that, the most important thing was to string together matches, stay fit.”

”I spent about three years and a half years outside the selection, time has passed, there has also been a kind of black hole in the club. Then as soon as I started to put things back in order it was better, and there it is a somewhat logical continuation.

”I am reaping a little of the fruits that I have sown. I had a long crossing of the desert, and there, hamdoullah, everything is starting to go back to normal.”

The former Schalke 04 player who previously had 35 appearances for the 2019 African champions scoring five goals will hope to make a return to the side after being left out since 2019.
