AMAPRO Football Championship: A Shining Example of Youth Development

The 2024 edition, which was concluded on July 7, saw Abraysports FC emerge as back-to-back champions, defeating NPFL Allstars 6-5 on penalties after playing 1-1 in the regulation time.

The tournament has consistently demonstrated its commitment to empowering youth and promoting football development.

Since its inception in 2016, AMAPRO has provided a stage for young players to shine, bridging the gap between talent and opportunity.

16 teams participated in this year’s edition, including Abraysports FC, WonderXChange FC, Teworh Rockstar Academy, and NPFL Allstars, NNL Allstars, Day Faria, Unicorn FC, Gateway FA, Dickalo FA, Laycon FA, Amapro Selected, HMK, Ibadan City, Kasam FA, House of Prayer and KFA.

The presence of top football stakeholders and dignitaries at the final, including the Executive Chairman of Kwara Sports Commission, Mallam Bolakale Magaji, and the Chairman of Kwara Football Association, Mallam Idris Musa Abdullahi Thuraya, underscores the championship’s credibility and appeal. We commend the organizers for their dedication and vision in providing a platform for young talent to flourish.
